Accessibility

What we test the site against, and how to report a problem.

What we aim for

We want the observatory to work for everyone who uses it, including people who rely on a screen reader, a keyboard, high-contrast colours or zoom. The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

How we check

We test pages with automated tools, axe and Lighthouse, and fix what they find. The last check was in October 2026.

What still falls short

  • On the visualizations page, the world map shows each country’s band by colour alone, and some neighbouring bands are hard to tell apart. The counts behind every shade on the map are also in the country table below it.
  • The coverage codebook and the pipeline report, linked from the methodology pages, are separate documents and have not been checked in the same way.

Tell us about a problem

If something on the site does not work for you, write to info@g3observatory.org or use the contact form. Please say which page you were on and what happened.
